One of Johannesburg’s older upmarket suburbs, leafy Northcliff, lies north west of the city’s CBD, its cliff a landmark on the otherwise predominantly flat skyline of the city. Northcliff’s large homes lie on steep inclines that wend their way up the cliff, the views superlative, and the winding tree-lined streets of a different nature to many of the other suburbs in Johannesburg that function mainly on grid systems.
